Chiaroscuro natural botanical perfume obtained its name from the world of painting. The term comes from Italy, referring to the tonal contrasts suggesting volume and modeling of the subjects depicted. The literal translation of the word is light-dark. The opening features a candied spicy sweetness with notes of jasmine, vanilla and chocolate contrasting the rich dark, base. There is a floral powder note in the dry down that evokes the audacious four foot wigs in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette.
